The tears in his heart he shed
with their solemn promises he did so stain.
Those chiseled tears with minds of their own
said “I’m sorry love, I’m so sorry love… forgive me my love… I’m sorry” they repeated again.
Fallen to glass they turned, to the ground they flew and with flame, they burned.
These tears were shed to his dismay, played his truth on strings bound with sadness.
Fruitful you are, enemy of my love, known to my passion.
Under his feet a river flowed so steep, so cold
Under elegant phases of the moon his face ran threw
His lover’s hands, small and light like seeds of snow.
He swallowed his lies and choked on them with flaming guilt till rains poured,
soaked the riches of land and growing o’ so tender, the flowers shown.
You’ve lost this life to lies, caged your body to the embers in this city.
Trapped and starving under thoughts,
Praying for a lift of breath
A lingering drop of forgiveness
Cry your way, ease your heart from dismay
Fight your cage, your executioner and name
vanquish this foe, your thoughtful enemy
Take to the air, take to me
Fight with fear in your heart
make yourself strong, a savage in your land, now renowned
Lift yourself up, stand on your own two feet
Put your hands up in the sky
Dance with the stars and swim in its shimmering light
immortal you are, forever more in its sight.
